Award Details

At any GT 1000 meet there will be no age groups and awards will be given at the individual level for first through third place only on all 4 events plus all-around.

Since emphasis is on team achievement, the number of team awards will be 50% of the total number of teams entered.

This first test meet will host 8 teams at each level and therefore award 1 through 4 Team Awards.

Gymnasts achieving a perfect 10 for their team, regardless of level, will add .5 bonus to their score and also be recognized individually in the culminating Club Championship awards following the 9/10/open session.

The basic principle of the composite club score is that a club fields 5 teams, one at each level. The low score on each event at each level is dropped, leaving the reamining five to count for team. Fifty will be a perfect team event total not including 10.0 bonuses. Fifty in each of 4 events yields a perfect score of 200 per level. With levels 4, 5, 6/7, 8, and Open Class, the combined perfect score would become 1000—thus the GT1000 designation.

This, the first GT1000, is an invitational and a conceptual trial.
